Research & Academic Services

Our Annual International Conference New Voices in Global Health and Development offers a forum for young investigators at the Masters and Doctorate level to present the results of their research and works in progress to an international audience of faculty and peers. The theme of the New Voices conference deals with determinants that affect inequities in Global Health and Development.

Conference participants represent a wide variety of nationalities as well as diverse academic disciplines. Submitted abstracts are reviewed by members of an international Technical Review Panel, made up of faculty from the Faculty of Public Health and partnering institutes, along with doctoral referees from the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, USA, the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medicine, and adjunct faculty from the University of North Carolina. Abstracts are accepted for oral and poster presentations. Presentations cover a wide range of topics from violence against women to the use of Complex Adaptive Systems Theory in the development of the new Sustainable Development Goals.

The Technical Review Panel judges oral and poster presentations for the quality of research, the importance of the topic, and the clarity and quality of the presentation and awards four THB 6000 prizes: two for the best oral presentations, and two for the two best poster presentations.
